Team Building

With summer and Christmas fast approaching now is the perfect time to think about team building, social sport and staff functions. The benefits of these events, when organised appropriately can be huge and most of the time the costs are tax deductible.

Team building events improve staff communication, morale and wellbeing. They also allow your staff to get to know each other better, improving communication at work. Team building activities such as cooking classes, an amazing race or a group challenge event can help bring your team members together in a fun and exciting way. The events help to increase the trust and willingness of your staff.

Social sport can be a great tool for networking, giving you the opportunity to meet and chat with potential clients in a relaxed setting while reducing stress and getting some exercise and fresh air. Indoor and outdoor team sports are a plenty in Wellington such as netball, soccer and touch (to name just a few) being available to all levels of ability. Organising a staff team or joining a team gives you a chance to get some exercise and socialise, while also marketing your business. Again and again we see business opportunities arise through word of mouth and putting yourself or your team out there.  Even for sole traders, there are options of participating in group sports like golf, running or cycling in which you can promote yourself and your business while also having some personal enjoyment.

Christmas functions are a great way to finish off the year with a celebration and show the team your appreciation for all their hard work. Finishing off the year in style with a stress releasing party to reward your staff can improve their loyalty towards your business.  A reward can help staff through motivation and satisfaction, encouraging them to work harder and happier.  A Christmas function with your clients is also great way to end the year and give your business an opportunity to start the New Year off in a good frame of mind.  Don’t delay; as popular options will be booked out early.
